The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in mining activities in Diriyah to ensure the implementation of all the necessary oversight mechanisms for the extraction of mineral resources.

The signing of the agreement saw the presence of H.E. Eng. Khalid Almudaifer, Vice Minister of Mining Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, and Jerry Inzerillo, GCEO of DGDA. It was signed on the sidelines of the Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh by Eng. Saleh Alaqili, Deputy of Mineral Resources, Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and Eng. Commenting on the agreement, Eng. Saleh Alaqili said that this MoU comes as part of the Ministry’s efforts to preserve and maximize the utilization of natural resources in Saudi Arabia. He stressed the importance of cooperation between both parties to ensure that all oversight work for extracting mineral resources has been implemented and mechanisms to monitor violations within DGDA’s supervisory areas have been developed.

Alsharif added that the two sides would also define applicable licenses within the scope of DGDA’s supervisory areas and the development projects that DGDA undertakes. This will be carried out in coordination with the relevant entities following the Authority’s mandate and in a manner that integrates with related regulations and systems.
